Sami Abusamra - Mockumentary

Sami started his career at MTV producing and directing music shows with artists like Queens Of The Stoneage, Foo Fighters and Graham Coxon.

His role at MTV also meant producing a consistent stream of playful, surreal and often lunatic comedy vignettes for alternative music channel MTV2. Such as the one where Lady Gaga farted loads, the one where Will.I.Am’s head was tiny for no reason and the one where Leona Lewis was doodling nudes. He enjoyed all that funny stuff and never looked back.

All of Sami’s work centres on comedy and is invariably built around pitch-perfect performances. He loves actors, loves world building and especially loves finding a joke where others might not look for one. His background as an editor makes him a smart, efficient shooter and his work in film and TV makes him as solid with character and story structure as he is with crafting stand-alone gags.

He’s directed commercials for all sorts of brands across loads of sectors including food, cars, beverages, travel, sports, energy, dating apps, medicines, charities - you name it. His work has travelled to a wide range of markets across the world too.
